Nexus is a repository manager functions as stores, organizes, and distributes Artifacts needed for the development.

This tool is one of the finest ways to continuously control binary, packages and build Artifacts. But this repository is not something like a Git repository where you store the source code, this repository is basically for packages, binaries that you build, like apt packages, yum packages, android packages, NPM packages, Docker packages, etc.

There are two types of version one is the community version and 2nd is the pro version which you called a professional version. The professional version is for paid and the enterprise community version is free with very limited functions.

From Nexus, developers can fully control access to, and deployment of, every Artifact in a company from a single location, making it easier to allocate software. Internally, you configure your build to issue Artifacts to Nexus, so they come out there to rest developers. Nexus Repository helps organizations build better, safer software even quicker for free. It’s the only repository manager with free support for all popular formats, like Java, Docker, JavaScript, Ruby, Python, NET, GitLFS, etc.

Why Nexus is used for?

Basically, it is repository management and is used to store any kind of packages. But there is another use of nexus as well, which is the availability of packages.

When you store the packages in the tools like nexus, they will be available to the entire team. Because of this coordination time is reduced.

Now the security of the packages is very important here. Security of packages means only a few persons should be having the right access or few CI tools. Most of the times CI tools will have the right access to make the nexus. But the rest of the people will not have the right access because the security of the package is also a major concern.

Now if you look at the kind of places where we deploy our applications, most of the applications we are using everywhere are cloud-based applications like making my trip, yatra.com, Swiggy, Ola, FB, etc, software as a service, so security is very important.

If one wrong package gets deployed into the system, operations, production, which will create a lot of problems so not only the support security and runtime security is important but package security is also important. So that’s one of the reasons where we can use nexus where the security can be enforced.

Storage over the period of time will die but if you store the packages in tools like nexus and Artifactory, etc. they will make sure that the packages they store in a sort of object format, they maintain the integrity of packages, so that way it will not get corrupted over the period of time, so that is a thing which will be taking care by tools is nexus.

What are the benefits of nexus?

Who should enroll for Nexus Certification Course?

Researchers have embraced transfer learning to address algorithm challenges

Advanced machines never fail to leave men in awe. But only researchers who worked behind the machines know how much time, cost and data it took to become a stage stealer. Training an algorithm that employs various features in a machine is quite nerve-wracking. But tech geeks have found a solution using transfer learning. Besides, companies are also unveiling a mixture of technologies like deep learning neural networks and machine learning to come up with futuristic machines.

We are often surrounded by the myth that number-crunching gets cheaper all the time. According to Moore’s law, the number of components that can be squeezed onto a microchip of a given size can double every two years with the amount of computational power available at a given cost. This idea might suggest the opinion that the cost of training a machine is falling. But that is not true. Just because data is everywhere and is easily available doesn’t mean they are open to use and inexpensive in any way. Even when the data is open for accessibility, training an algorithm takes much more effort than any other computational process. Industry analysts anticipate that worldwide spending on artificial intelligence will reach US$100 billion in 2024, double of what it is today.

The advantage of machine learning and artificial intelligence algorithm is that they can easily understand information, act and interact with our environment in the most natural and human way possible. But the performance of the models depends highly on the calculation power allocated, and the quantity and quality of data. A study conducted by Dimensional Research unravels that around 96% of organizations run into a problem with training data quality and quantity. Besides, the study also claims that most machine learning model projects require more than 100,000 data samples to perform effectively. A machine learning system is still programmed with standard one-and-zero logic, but it can modify its behavior to meet specialized goals based on patterns it discovers in the sample data. Henceforth, machine learning algorithm needs to be trained with good data, which means data is optimized according to the issue you are dealing with. Fortunately, transfer learning can help as it takes knowledge gained from a pre-trained model that was used to solve a specific task and applies it to a different, but a similar problem within the same domain. Additionally, a mixed array of technologies like deep learning neural networks and machine learning are also making the training process less burdening.

Transfer learning addresses algorithm challenges

Transfer learning is a machine learning method where a model developed for a task is reused as the starting point for a model on a second task. The technology is seen as a popular approach in deep learning where pre-trained models are used as the starting point on computer vision and natural language processing tasks, given the vast compute and time resources required to develop neural network models on these problems and from the huge jumps in a skill that they provide on related problems.

Remarkably, with the help of transfer learning, instead of starting the learning process from scratch, you start from patterns that have been learned when solving a different problem. This way, you leverage previous learning and avoid starting from nothing. Transfer learning is usually expressed through the use of pre-trained models that were trained on a large dataset to solve a problem similar to the one that we want to solve. One of the well-known examples of transfer learning is GPT-3, the largest natural language machine learning model ever built. GPT-3 is a language prediction model where an algorithm structure is designed to take one piece of language and transform it into what it predicts is the most useful following piece of language for the user. Behind the mechanism are machine learning, deep learning and transfer learning technologies that help the model to produce humanlike predictive text.

Other than this, big tech conglomerates like Microsoft, AWS, NVIDIA, IBM, etc. have leveraged the help of transfer learning toolkits to remove the burden of building models from scratch, address the data quality and quantity challenges and expedite production machine learning.

Source:- crn.in

Independent spend management company JAGGAER has announced a partnership with EdgeVerve Systems, a subsidiary of Infosys, to develop software products for customers in multiple industries including manufacturing, retail, logistics and higher education. EdgeVerve offers AI capabilities with Infosys Nia, and RPA capabilities with AssistEdge. The solutions will be delivered to customers through the JAGGAER ONE spend management solution suite.

EdgeVerve’s Nia and AssistEdge are enhancements to the JAGGAER ONE SaaS cloud-based platform, delivering technology to automate repetitive and rule-based human processes. This includes the automation of “high touch” processes through modelling rules into software robots that run non-intrusively on JAGGAER ONE. Utilising the same validation, security and data protocols ensure that ‘change management’ within organizations is minimal. Additionally, EdgeVerve RPA integrates with third party services to pass data between systems when no traditional application interface exists.

“EdgeVerve brings powerful processing to our platform with a solution that is already a leading product in the global RPA market. Where most providers utilize RPA in place of API to patch a broken and inefficient process, EdgeVerve delivers critical business functions such as massive document validation, which automates supplier management, and accelerates manual processes through digital transformation. The Nia AI platform collaboration with the JAGGAER ONE platform delivers sophisticated and industry leading automation to resource intensive functions,” said Zia Zahiri, CTO of JAGGAER.

“Procurement organizations are in the midst of a digital revolution to boost efficiencies and drive down costs. This partnership will be transformative in nature with two industry leaders, JAGGAER and EdgeVerve, coming together to collaborate and maximize business value for customers in the procurement space by leveraging Intelligent Automation and AI. Our partner program, “Synergy”, has been built on the foundation of collaboration to create mutual and customer value, and the partnership with JAGGAER is a testament to that philosophy,” said Atul Soneja, SVP & Global Head – Edge Products and Infosys Nia.
