Sunline and Huawei have jointly released the Digital Loan One Box solution, a global contactless solution for financial services.

According to the two companies, the solution will be rolled out across countries and regions, such as Southeast Asia, the Middle East, Latin America, and Africa, where financial inclusiveness is urgently necessary.

Digital Loan One Box adopts an open strategy, allowing financial institutions to launch a wide range of contactless services, such as online loan product campaign, customer E-KYC, risk assessment, fund disbursement and post-loan processing.

The solution responds to the urgent need from both FIs and their customers for digital financial services. This requirement is ever more pressing amid the pandemic that many countries continue to battle.

As the cornerstones of national economies, financial institutions need contactless, digital, and online financial services, especially in the current situation. However, global banks face similar challenges in the course of digital transformation: huge costs and risks to replace legacy systems, limited budget and uncertain return on investment for transformation, lack of open business and technology experience, increasingly fierce competitions, and more demand of contactless service driven by the pandemic, etc.

Contactless finance refers to services where customers and banks do not need to interact face-to-face. Via omni-channels, it supports plug-in-based services, built-in businesses and out-of-the-box features.

“Amid the ongoing pandemic, the solution comes at the right time for financial institutions. It can satisfy the demands of efficient lending and loaning for both financial institutions and customers during such special times. Within this industry, we will continue to develop a global ecosystem and scenario-based solutions from 2C to 2B with global partners,” said Jason Cao, President, Global Financial Services Business Unit, Enterprise Business Group, Huawei. “Together with customers and partners in the industry, we will start with 5G and seize the opportunities across five major tech domains – connectivity, cloud, computing, AI and industry applications. Ultimately, we will provide scenario-based smart solutions and technologies to facilitate the digital transformation for financial customers.”

Hongan Li, Senior Vice President, Sunline, added that: “Sunline is a global banking IT service company. We keep innovating to lead in FinTech and enrich the interconnection of life. During COVID-19, we realised the urgent need for technological innovation, digital services, and open financial services global wide. In light of this, Sunline and Huawei are now launching the Digital Loan One Box Solution. The solution is designed for financial institutions and customers, especially for those lacking technology capabilities. It is based on Sunline’s enterprise-level microservices framework for banks. The agile platform features high flexibility, loose coupling, high performance, and distributed deployment. It meets the dynamic horizontal scaling requirements of financial institutions of any size at both the business and system demands. Our aim is to provide a solution that is practical and helpful in this extraordinary time.”

The Digital Loan One Box Solution is built on Huawei FusionCube Hyper-Converged Infrastructure, adopting the enterprise-level microservices banking framework EDSP released by Sunline in 2020.

Huawei Cloud has launched a new Huawei Cloud Stack (HCS) offering specifically designed to provide cloud services in local data centres for government and enterprise customers.

According to Huawei Cloud, the company is focused on making itself the go-to choice for government and enterprise organisations looking to go through the process of intelligent upgrade.

Huawei Cloud states HCS provides three main capabilities: unified management, data governance, and application enablement.

Due to federated cloud technology, customers can have refined management of cross-cloud resource pools and obtain the industry’s multi-level O&M capabilities. Through refined rights- and domain-based management, they can control resource access by region, department, and application.

For data governance, HCS allows enterprises to build enterprise data platforms. For instance they can use FusionInsight to create intelligent data lakes and use DAYU and ModelArt.

Huawei Cloud Roma allows enterprises to integrate multiple types of applications and data for full-lifecycle digital asset governance.

It is fully open to partners and developers who wish to run applications on a single, unified network, the company states. The offering also provides instant access to cloud services and marketplace applications.

Huawei Cloud president of Hybrid Cloud Lv Yangming says, based on the unified Optimus hardware-software synergy architecture, HCS and Huawei Cloud provide the same APIs that make it possible to let government and enterprise customers use cloud services in their local data centres.

In fact, according to Yangming, more than 70 cloud services from Huawei Cloud, such as AI, big data, IoT, and blockchain services, can be used if required.

To meet the operational needs of customers, Huawei Cloud has launched a remote hosting program, a remote service support program, and a local service support program.

After obtaining authorisation from the customer, Huawei provides support. All operations are visible, monitorable, manageable, and controllable, the company states.

Furthermore, Huawei Cloud Marketplace provides a new hybrid cloud zone where customers can obtain a large number of industry applications. The company states that partners from various industries are able to join up and build out this hybrid cloud zone.

As for security, Huawei Cloud provides intelligent encryption cards for on-demand encryption for scenarios such as big data, data warehouses, and block storage.

In addition, it connects with third-party key systems to implement independent key management and control.

HCS is delivered in integrated cabinets where hardware, cables, and cloud service software come preinstalled. After the equipment arrives, customers need less than 24 hours to commission and roll out services.

Huawei vice president and Huawei Cloud president Zheng Yelai, says, “In this age of new infrastructure, computing power has become a new source of productivity, data are the new raw materials; cloud, AI, and 5G are the new tools of production, and a new digital infrastructure is injecting momentum into the digital transformation.

“Cloud services are the only way forward for smart upgrade of government and enterprise organisations. Leveraging a wealth of experience in the industry, along with their experience with digital transformation, Huawei Cloud has released the Huawei Cloud Stack, aiming to accelerate digitalisation and intelligent upgrade of government and enterprise organisations alike.”

According to Huawei, at present there are four major challenges facing organisations wishing to move forward with intelligent upgrade.

First, traditional IT services are insufficient and evolve too slowly. Organisations need to quickly acquire cloud service capabilities and innovate faster.

Second, organisations need widespread access to applications available in an open ecosystem. Third, data needs to be deployed locally for enhanced security in order to better meet management and compliance requirements. Fourth, organisations need to be able to gain rapid access to professional O&M.

HCS and Huawei’s cloud portfolio is designed to meet these challenges and further aid digital transformation and intelligent upgrade operations.

In addition to HCS, Huawei Cloud and Computing CTO for China Region Xiao Yi, officially launched the Huawei Cloud Marketplace Hybrid Cloud Partner Program, inviting partners to release applications in the hybrid cloud zone.

Huawei Cloud will also provide consulting services and solutions, including design support for digital transformation, enterprise cloudification consulting, data governance consulting, and AI solutions.

The company states, going forward, Huawei Cloud will continue to leverage cloud, AI, and 5G and the full-stack technology advancements to provide stable, secure, and sustainable cloud services, and will continue to work with partners in a bid to accelerate intelligent upgrade in every industry.

Source- zdnet.com

Huawei has unveiled its new smart cities digital platform utilising artificial intelligence (AI) and Internet of Things (IoT) capabilities, which it said could be used across smart public safety, environmental protection, transportation, government, education, and agriculture.

Huawei’s +AI Digital Platform connects what it calls the brain or command centre; the central nervous system, or network; and the peripheral nervous system, made up of sensors across a city.

“Just like an operating system, the platform is compatible with different city sensors, creates a city digital twin, and supports diverse city applications,” Huawei Enterprise Business Group VP Ma Yue said.

The smart cities digital platform combines AI, IoT, big data, a geographic information system, video, cloud, converged communications, and security.

“Huawei has also developed a middleware platform to provide services to software application partners. This is designed to help application partners quickly develop upper-layer applications to accelerate transformation and innovation in city management, city services, and industry development,” the Chinese networking giant added.

According to Huawei, smart cities solutions are now in their fourth stage thanks to the addition of greater AI capabilities.

“A smart city development race driven by the growing global digital economy is taking place around the world,” Huawei said.

“Smart city adoption has undergone the first stage of breaking down data silos; the second stage of the rise of mobile internet applications; and the third stage of IoT deployment for a collection of mass volumes of city data.

“It is now at the fourth stage, where cities are improving their management capabilities through AI-enabled data mining, achieving the integration of digital technologies and city governance to promote sustainable city development.”

Huawei said its smart cities solution has now been deployed across more than 160 cities in 40 nations, including in Duisburg, Germany; Rustenburg, South Africa; and Tianjin’s Binhai New Area.

Huawei last month unveiled its AI strategy and portfolio, including a series of chips, cloud services, and products.

The company’s Ascend AI chip series includes the Ascend 910 and Ascend 310, with the company also unveiling the Compute Architecture for Neural Networks (CANN), a chip operators library and automated operators development toolkit, and MindSpore, a device, edge, and cloud training and inference framework.

The latter includes “full-pipeline services, hierarchical APIs, and pre-integrated solutions”, Huawei said, with the Chinese networking giant to later expand its AI stack to include an AI acceleration card, AI server, AI appliance, and other AI products.

“Huawei’s AI strategy is to invest in basic research and talent development, build a full-stack, all-scenario AI portfolio, and foster an open global ecosystem,” rotating chair Eric Xu said in October.

Huawei at the same time announced its smart cities AI partnership with Tianjin Binhai New Area, as well as a smart campus solution and joint innovation laboratories alongside Chinese real estate developer Vanke.

“The Tianjin Economic-Technological Development Area designed and developed an AI-based ‘1 + 4 + N’ smart city solution, which refers to one centre, four platforms, and additional innovative applications,” Huawei said.

The centre is Huawei’s “city brain” Intelligent Operations Centre, which aggregates and processes data collected from the government, businesses, and citizens through IoT applications and internet access.

The four AI platforms are then Resident Voices, which has voice recognition for all citizens of Tianjin; Sensing the City, which uses image recognition across people, places, vehicles, and things “for the purpose of fostering harmony for all”; Resident Care, which involves deep learning and correlation for personalised services for citizens; and Enterprise Services, which ensures services availability match their need by applying “multi-dimensional and correlation analysis to clarify the internal relationships of industries in the TEDA district”.

Huawei’s AI push saw it sign a strategic agreement with Chinese search engine giant Baidu in December last year to build an open mobile AI ecosystem that covers platforms, technology, internet services, and content ecosystems.

Huawei head of Consumer Software Engineering and director of Intelligence Engineering Felix Zhang had last year said the addition of AI capabilities to smartphones will bring the next shift in technology.

Huawei had unveiled its Kirin 970 chipset with built-in AI in September 2017, at the time calling it the “future of smartphones”. Its mobile AI is made up of a combination of on-device AI and cloud AI.

Huawei had in May also announced the launch of its eLTE Multimedia Critical Communications System (eLTE MCCS), which it said provides “ultra-reliable” communications solutions for public safety organisations.

According to Huawei, the narrowband networks traditionally used for public safety are limited to providing access to basic voice services. The eLTE MCCS service uses a mobile service convergence platform to interconnect such networks with video surveillance and GIS.
