<p>Microsoft and Udacity have announced a collaboration to confer scholarships for its all-new Machine Learning Nanodegree program in Microsoft Azure. The new Udacity Machine Learning Scholarship Program for Microsoft Azure represents the first of several programs from Udacity and Microsoft to deliver training for Azure cloud services.</p>

<p>The scholarship will be conferred in two phases. After reviewing the applications, 10,000 selected candidates will be enrolled to pursue the first phase of scholarship.</p>

<p>The phase begins with a two-month-long foundation course in Introduction to machine learning on Azure with a Low-code Experience. This is a single course focused on completing prerequisites for the full Nanodegree program where you’ll be supported by a community moderated by Udacity.</p>

<p>A unique feature of this program is Azure Labs wherein students work on projects in live Azure environments directly within the Udacity classroom.</p>

<p>The top 300 performers from the foundation course will then be awarded the scholarship to the Microsoft Azure Machine Learning Engineer Nanodegree program.</p>

<p>Speaking about the scholarships, Gabriel Dalporto, CEO of Udacity shared: “With the Artificial Intelligence continuing to grow at a fast pace and AI engineers in high demand, especially as more enterprises build new cloud applications and move old ones to the cloud, Udacity’s training program for Azure machine learning presents an amazing opportunity for those looking to further expand their skill set. We’re excited to partner with Microsoft to create professionals with these specialized skill sets.”</p>

<p>“AI is driving transformation across organizations and there is increased demand for data science skills,” said Julia White, corporate vice president, Azure Marketing, Microsoft. “Through our collaboration with Udacity to offer low-code and advanced courses on Azure Machine Learning, we hope to expand data science expertise as experienced professionals will truly be invaluable resources to solving business problems.”</p>

<p>
To apply for
Intel Edge AI Scholarship program, students must have a basic knowledge
of computer vision and artificial intelligence model creation</p>

<p>Udacity,
the Silicon Valley based lifelong learning platform, announced its
newest initiative to expand students’ artificial intelligence skills:
the Intel Edge AI Scholarship Program.</p>

<p>This new scholarship
program, announced at the Intel AI Summit and the Future of Education
and Workforce Summit in San Francisco, will empower professional
developers interested in advanced learning, specifically deep learning
and computer vision, to accelerate the development and deployment of
high-performance computer vision and deep learning solutions.</p>

<p>Computer
vision and AI at the edge are becoming instrumental in powering
everything from factory assembly lines and retail inventory management
to hospital urgent care medical imaging equipment like X-ray and CAT
scans. This program will teach fluency in some of the most cutting-edge
technologies.</p>

<p>Upon successful completion of the first phase of the
program, students will also have the opportunity to earn their way to a
full scholarship to the Intel Edge AI for IoT Developers Nanodegree
program, a brand-new Udacity Nanodegree program built in partnership
with Intel.</p>

<p>The scholarship program is divided into two phases. In
the first phase, students will get exclusive access to the first course
of the brand-new Intel Edge AI for IoT Developers Nanodegree program,
the Intel Edge AI Fundamentals Course. As part of the program, scholars
will learn to accelerate the development and deployment of
high-performance computer vision and deep learning solutions, using its
wide range of silicon and the Intel Distribution of OpenVINO toolkit. As
scholars work through the first course, they’ll benefit from a
Udacity-supported student community where they can collaborate and
support their peers, get feedback on their work, participate in
exclusive webinars and more.</p>

<p>Intel’s support and investment will
make a limited number of seats available for the first phase of the
scholarship. Upon successfully completing phase one, 750 students will
then go on to qualify for the full Intel Edge AI for IoT Developers
Nanodegree program.</p>

<p>“At Udacity, we strive to empower
professionals with the most cutting-edge and in-demand skills in the
field,” said Udacity CEO, Gabriel Dalporto. “That’s why we teamed up
with Intel to build the Intel® Edge AI for IoT Developers Nanodegree
program — the first program of its kind.”</p>

<p>“Historically, students
have learned how to build and deploy deep learning models for the
cloud,” said Jonathan Ballon Intel vice president and general manager,
Internet of Things Group. “With Udacity, we are training the next
generation of AI developers to go where the data is generated in the
physical world: at the Edge. Optimizing direct deployment of models on
edge devices requires knowledge of unique constraints like power,
network bandwidth and latency, varying computer architectures and more.
The skills this class delivers will allow students to implement
learnings on real-world applications across a variety of fields.”</p>

<p>Given the toolkit requisites, to apply for Intel Edge AI Scholarship program, students must have a basic knowledge of computer vision and AI model creation, along with basic Python or C++ experience. To learn more and apply to this scholarship program, visit the <strong>official Scholarship Page</strong>.</p>

<p>This
Scholarship program incorporates a brand-new Nanodegree program, the
Intel Edge AI for IoT Developers Nanodegree program. The Nanodegree
program will introduce students to the OpenVINO toolkit, which allows
developers to deploy pre-trained deep learning models through a
high-level C++ or Python inference engine API integrated with
application logic. Based on convolutional neural networks (CNN), the
toolkit extends workloads across Intel hardware (including accelerators)
 and maximizes performance.</p>

<p>As such, the graduates of the Intel
Edge AI for IoT Developers Nanodegree program will understand how to
accelerate the development and deployment of high-performance computer
vision and deep learning solutions using its wide range of silicon and
the Intel Distribution of OpenVINO toolkit.</p>
