IIT Roorkee is currently offering an online course in data science to anybody who is interested in learning the foundations of Python scripting and its principles and boost their career prospects in the subject. The course will offer over forty hours of instructor-led live classes. Lectures will be delivered from IIT Roorkee faculty, and participants will also receive hands-on sessions from industry experts.
The course will be conducted over a duration of 14 days, and there will also be three hours of doubt clearing sessions on weekends. There are currently 60 seats available, and applications from participants will be accepted on a first-come-first-serve basis. Upon successfully completing the online course in data science, participants will also receive certificates by E&ICT Academy IIT Roorkee.
What Participants will Be Taught in the IIT Roorkee Online Certificate Course in Data Science
Apart from Python scripting, the course aims at providing learners with knowledge in the design and implementation of real-world inspired machine learning and deep learning algorithms applications. The focus areas of the course are as follows:
Introduction to packages in Python.
Numpy, Pandas, and EDA,
Supervised and unsupervised learning.
Linear Regression and Logistic Regression.
Clustering, and K-means.
NLP (Natural Language Processing).
Image processing with MLP (Multi-layer perceptron).
Projects and assignments.
Project work with real-life problems such as handwritten optical image recognition and exploratory analysis on COVID-19 will also be given to learners. While no experience is required to take the course, a fundamental knowledge of any programming language would be beneficial. Interested participants would be required to pay a fee of Rs 8000. The last date to register for the course is 26 October 2020, and the online course in data science will be conducted from 28 October to 10 November 2020.
